February 18, 2017 Hawks ground Bears in season finale NEW PALTZ, N.Y.— SUNY New Paltz (16-8, 13-5 SUNYAC) defeated SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team (3-21, 1-17 SUNYAC) 85-53 in the Bears' season finale on Saturday afternoon. Senior guard Abbey LaPage (North Bangor, N.Y./Franklin Academy) led Potsdam with 12 points and freshman guard Drew Dufrane (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) contributed 10 points.
February 17, 2017 Oneonta downs Potsdam ONEONTA, N.Y.— Freshman guard Drew Dufrane (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) recorded 23 points with a career-high seven threes, in the SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team's (3-20, 1-16 SUNYAC) 67-44 loss to SUNY Oneonta (14-10, 11-6 SUNYAC) Friday evening. Junior forward Emily Drake (Athens, N.Y./Coxsackie-Athens) had six points and 11 rebounds, while senior guard Meghan Driscoll (Troy, N.Y./Troy) had six points and three assists.
February 15, 2017 Dufrane leads Bears to victory in home finale POTSDAM, N.Y.- Strong scoring lifted the SUNY Potsdam women’s basketball team (3-19) over SUNY Canton (5-18) with a score of 74-62 Wednesday night in the Bears’ final home contest of the season. Freshman guard Drew Dufrane (Liverpool, N.Y./Liverpool) led Potsdam with a career-high 24 points, while shooting .500 from the floor and .600 from behind the arch. Sophomore guard Abbey Smith (Bainbridge, N.Y./Bainbridge-Guilford) fell short of a double-double with 14 points and a game-high nine boards.
February 10, 2017 Cardinals erupt late to down Bears on Senior Night POTSDAM, N.Y.- Strong fourth quarter lifted SUNY Plattsburgh (10-12, 6-7 SUNYAC) over the SUNY Potsdam women’s basketball team (2-19, 1-15 SUNYAC) 46-41 Friday night at Jerry Welsh Gymnasium. Seniors Meghan Driscoll (Troy, N.Y./Troy), Patti Dorgler (Floral Park, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy), Abbey LaPage (North Bangor, N.Y./Franklin Academy), Sidney Thompson (Akwesasne, N.Y./Massena) and Lyndsey Wadsworth (Northville, N.Y./Northville) were honored before the contest.
February 4, 2017 Bears fall to Cortland on the road CORTLAND, N.Y.--The SUNY Potsdam women's basketball team (2-18, 1-14 SUNYAC) was defeated by SUNY Cortland (10-11, 9-5) 81-49 on Saturday night. Senior captain Patti Dorgler (Floral Park, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy) led the way for the Bears with 12 points, four rebounds and four assists.
February 3, 2017 Lakers handle Bears OSWEGO, N.Y.- The Oswego State Lakers (6-14, 3-10 SUNYAC) got their revenge with a 71-42 win against the SUNY Potsdam women’s basketball team (2-17, 1-13 SUNYAC) after falling to the Bears in overtime at Maxcy Hall two weeks ago. Senior guard Abbey LaPage (North Bangor, N.Y./Franklin Academy) led Potsdam with eight points and two steals. Rachael Windhausen recorded a double-double for Oswego with 11 points and game-high 10 rebounds.
